Hadassah

Hadassah’s founder, Henrietta Szold, Jewish scholar and activist, had a profound understanding of the importance of knowledge and learning in Jewish tradition. She captured the essence of these timeless values, creating a great educational adventure that has been the hallmark of Hadassah since its inception over 85 years ago. As a community of Jewish women, with well over 300,000 members of all ages and interests, Hadassah understands the dramatic changes and challenges for women in the world today. Recognizing that women are confronting the demands of multiple roles and responsibilities at home, in the workplace, and in society at large, Hadassah offers each member, within her own time frame, an opportunity to realize fully her potential as a powerful and positive force within the Jewish community. In 1997, the Greenfield Chapter instituted a parent/child preschool program,Training Wheels/Al Galgalim, for children ages 2 1//2 to 5.
